the local issue. is all about the concept and sentiment of home and community, crafted by women who make meaningful contributions to their artistic form. artists amy shapiro, andy major, angela hockabout, dianne durham, dj resolution, elyssa white, freda maletsky, hazel wheeler, kayleigh mccollum, medium reality, tayleur crenshaw, victoya coleman, and yoko o.k. talked about everything from their contributions to their communities to what their community inspired within them. while the issue featured a wealth of artists close to whet’s oakland, california home base, it also included artists from germany and canada to weigh in on their own ideas of home. wherever they hailed from and however they chose to take it on, all of the women in this issue did so with the verve only a local knows how to exhibit.
